He was deceased during the years 260 and 270 due to the ruler of Rome Claudius II who tends out to be cruel and was not in favor of marriages as he thought that unmarried young men are more vigilant in forming tough and strong army than married ones. So, Saint looking at the cruelty he secretly helped young men to get married. When Claudius II came to know about the unhealthy act been done against his rules Saint Valentine was arrested and was imprisoned. Before his execution, Valentine fell into love with the daughter of the jailer, who was blind and he healed her.
From the other source the story heard is that Saint was asked by the ruler of Rome, Claudius II to convert into Roman Paganism but the Saint did not agree to his obligation, thus was arrested. The Saint converted into Christianity and was executed. The fact remains that he fell into love and wrote a letter to the healed blind girl expressing his love and affection for her.
