The course includes a Java platform which Sun Microsystems developed with the cooperation of its many partners, the most eminent one being IBM. The name of this Java platform is J2EE and is a lightweight environment designed to develop modern software.

Of course, in order to be a professional software developer, it is highly important to understand the J2EE environment, its syntax as well as the language. The deeper understanding of this first stage subject will lead to better interaction with the platform and one would be able to work in a better way. However, the three-step process to achieving this certificate does not allow all three steps to be covered at once. As a person clears a stage of this certification, he/she is eligible to be promoted or find a better job due to enhancement of knowledge. Once al the three stages have been cleared, highly paid jobs, chances of promotion and first priority amongst employers is at hands.
The first part of SCEA deals completely with testing the candidate. Testing includes the capability of a candidate with the language and syntax of J2EE environment, software knowledge and software development skills. In addition, all the basic tools of the application, J2EE, are introduced.
The second step leads to a more professional test. This will include a business problem provided in the form of statement format case diagrams and business domain model. The candidates will then have to evaluate the problem and come up with a solution. The solution is expected to be a long term one with the software being lightweight, easy to use and practical.
Part 3 is a rather easy testing and highly related to the previous parts. This includes question upon problems. When the candidate replies he/she is further questioned why they selected this way and not that particular way?
Hence in this world of economic breakdown and global recession, it is better to be an architect of the software rather than being a user of it.
