Nowadays, Cell phones are being launched with multiple functions, with one device replacing the functions formally performed by several others. The convenience offered by cell phones has promoted ubiquitous usage almost everywhere by everyone. They now seem to be involved in every aspect of people’s daily lives especially among the new generation.
Honeycomb is the Google next generation mobile and it has been built up with bigger screen size, can also be called as tablets. They have spent plenty of time in constructing the Honeycomb, and got successful in developing a brand new, truly implicit and holographic user interface. Latest features have been revived in this version meant to bring more attention of people especially young generation as they tend to do more things in less time. Many of Android’s existing features will be seen gleaming on Honeycomb such as more refined multi-tasking, appropriate notifications, access to over 100,000 apps on Android Market, home screen customization with a new 3D experience and redesigned widgets that are richer and more interactive. In addition to all these features, some powerful upgrades have also been added to the web browser, including tabbed browsing, form auto-fill, syncing with your Google Chrome bookmarks, and incognito mode for private browsing.
It also includes the latest Google Mobile innovations which includes the Google Maps 5 with 3D interactions and offline reliability, access to over 3 million Google eBooks, and Google Talk, which now allows to have a video and voice chat with any other Google Talk enabled device anytime anywhere.
Recently, Ina Fried, an America journalist, posted that Google would be organizing an event to show off the latest version of Android, code named as “Honeycomb”.
The invite reads:
“A Taste of what’s New from Android: You’re invited to an Android event at Google headquarters in Mountain View on Wednesday, February 2. Please join us for an in-depth look at Honeycomb, Android ecosystem news and hands-on demos.”
The timings of the even are from 10 AM PT to 1 PM PT, but it will be probably of about 90 minutes, along with the rest of the time saved for demonstration. More importantly, the entire event will be cascaded live on YouTube. This event also follows the Google’s latest launch of a preview innovation of the SDK for Honeycomb.
No one is really confirmed that who will be going to demonstrate Android 3.0 at this event yet, but most probably Andy Rubin CEO of Android is expected to do so. It would be more interesting if the Larry Page who is expecting to become a new CEO of Android will show up as well and be a part of it.
